Safety Features
Mitsubishi knows that your family's safety shouldn't be limited to an optional check box. That's why every Outlander Sport comes with advanced driver-assistance technologies to help better detect and avoid road hazards, including:
- Standard Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection: While there's no substitute for maintaining awareness behind the wheel, it's always nice to have a little backup. This driver aid system continually monitors the road ahead for other vehicles and pedestrians and alerts the driver to potential collision situations. If the driver can't respond in time, Outlander Sport will automatically apply the brakes to avoid or mitigate the severity of an impact.
- Standard Lane Departure Warning: Whether you're returning home after a long day at work, halfway through a long road trip, or maybe just absorbed in your favorite song, even the vigilant drivers can lose focus sometimes. When road lines are clearly visible, Outlander Sport's Lane Departure Warning system monitors your position in the lane and provides audible and visual alerts if it detects unintentional drifting.
- Standard Automatic High Beams: More than just a simple annoyance, oncoming high beams can create a potentially hazardous situation. It's usually accidental, and if you've driven for any length of time, you're likely familiar with both sides of the scenario. Automatic High Beams on the Outlander Sport can recognize oncoming headlights and leading taillights and switch between high and low beam lights to provide optimal visibility without distracting other drivers.
- Available Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist: Standard on SE and GT trim levels, serve as an extra set of eyes to see where you can't. When another vehicle is in or passing through your blind spot, the system displays an indicator in the corresponding mirror. And if the turn signal is activated, it can also provide an audible alert so that you know that it's unsafe to change lanes.
- Available Rear Cross Traffic Alert: Also standard on SE and GT trims, Rear Cross Traffic Alert alleviates the uncertainty backing up in a crowded parking lot. When in reverse, the system monitors for and alerts you to objects approaching from the sides that you'll know when it's clear to continue.
Trim Level Highlights
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport streamlines its feature offerings to four nicely equipped trims, making it easy for Washington DC shoppers to select their ideal mix of amenities and value. Here's a quick look at some of their most notable attributes.
Outlander Sport ES
Despite the ES's entry-level position, the Outlander Sport's list of standard amenities covers much more than just the basics. Full LED exterior lighting (headlights, taillights, daytime running lights, and fog lights) makes it easier to see and be seen, while automatic high beams help avoid distracting other drivers. Additionally, the 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels add to the stylish aesthetic, and rain-sensing wipers and heated mirrors help maintain visibility in inclement conditions.
Standard tech features include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 7-inch touchscreen with USB port, Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection, and Lane Departure Warning.
Outlander Sport LE
Stepping up one level adds comfort details like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats. It also adds unique black interior and exterior style elements and black-painted 18-inch wheels. Additionally, the LE trim is the access point for the larger 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, SiriusXM satellite radio, and more USB ports.
Outlander Sport SE
The penultimate trim level adds more convenience features like FAST-Key proximity entry with push-button start, power-folding side mirrors, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Outlander Sport GT
Topping the lineup, Outlander Sport GT equips a more powerful 2.4-liter engine and comes standard with all-wheel drive. Exclusive amenities include a HomeLink-equipped auto-dimming rearview mirror, roof rails, and combination soft-touch seating upholstery.
